Small Treasures

We love using nature in our work and so we decided it was time to re-visit our 'small treasures'. Stones that fit into the palm of your hand, carefully stamped with birds, butterflies and leaves.

They sit perfectly in our handmade nests and rest quietly on shelves and in
decorative settings. A natural keepsake.

New Gift Tags

Christmas gift tags hand stamped on 100% rag made art paper and topped off with a little bundle of sticks as 'Good King Wenceslas' would do!

Hoping to find somewhere lovely to sell these little goodies.

Lovely photo

What a lovely find to discover this image of my hand made eggs on the "What Katie Ate" Blog - Tasmania Day 1 of 3.  She writes a wonderful foodie blog and recently spent three days in Tasmania. She also visited 'the maker' store in Salamanca who had some of my text and map eggs on display. You can read Katie's blog about her time in Tasmania from the link below.

Everyday

'Make something everyday even if it's small.
The act of creating is often a form of meditation.
It nourishes the soul and clears the mind for new ideas to form.'

I read this somewhere recently and was immediately struck with an 'ah ha' moment. Everyone's lives get so busy that, sometimes, we forget how nourishing it is to take, even a few minutes of the day, to 'create' something. My day today is filled with a trillion chores and commitments to complete, so I pondered for a while - what could I create on such a frantic day ? I sat and contemplated, looking at our collecting shelf. This small image brought a moment of quiet to an otherwise hectic day. Sometimes it can be just the act of slowing down for a moment and seeing the beauty of small objects around you, that can fulfil that creative daily act.

Change

Time seems to be racing by and the fallen leaves are a reminder that the beauty and colour of Autumn will soon be a memory as Winter takes its place.   I am hoping warm fires and cosy days inside will bring inspiration and creativity over the cooler months ahead.
